Oh dogs are so gorgeous, i wish i could have my own loved ones of dogs. It would make my afternoon each day to determine them have fun.

Congratulations Allie on your first litter. I know I felt very unprepared. If you can, see if your vet will let you birth at their office (if you’re lucky enough to time it right!) for a reasonable cost. I think the bill was about $150, and most of that was the x-ray cost that you can do without.

After going through it once, I’m reasonable confident I could handle it on my own, but back then my attempts to attend some live births first and have an experienced breeder friend help with Celeste were thwarted by scheduling and weather.

I can hardly believe that was just over two years ago, the darlings just celebrated their birthdays again. If you’re planning on keeping a puppy, I’ll tell you now that it’s very satisfying being able to watch a dog grow from their very first day.

Good luck, and do post some cute puppy pix when the little darlings start looking like dogs instead of otters. ;c)

I have my first litter of border collie puppies on the way… they are due in 14 days and reading about your story makes me feel even more nervous and ill-prepared! lol
